California Coverage Expansion Initiative

Welcome to UCLA's California Coverage Expansion website.  This website contains information about California's county-based health care coverage expansion programs, which seek new and innovative ways to expand health care coverage to eligible low-income, uninsured individuals not otherwise covered by Medi-Cal.
 
Since 2007, the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research has been working with the State of California Department of Health Care Services to evaluate the implementation and impact of several pilot projects and demonstration programs, including:

The California Coverage Expansion website is maintained by the Health Economics and Evaluation Research (HEER) Program at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research (CHPR), one of the nation's leading health policy research centers. The website is intended to communicate evaluation progress, collect and disseminate information about the programs, foster communication and innovation, and gather tools and resources useful to program administrators and other stakeholders. The majority of the content on this website is accessible to program stakeholders only after logging in.
